(Vermont) D. Lasser Ceramics is a small, energetic company located in the Green Mountains of Vermont where all pottery is crafted by artisans in a studio situated in an old barn. Each Lasser piece takes at least a week to complete. Raw clay is molded, shaped, thrown, jiggered or pressed then trimmed by hand. When the desired shape is attained, the piece is dried on a shelf or in the sun. After firing and cooling, each piece is dipped in the appropriate glaze, air-brushed, hand painted, etched and sponged. When the painting and sponging is complete, the piece is finally glaze fired and cooled. Variations in color, design, form, and surface texture are created by the touch of the artists' hands and are guaranteed as a unique work of art. All of the pottery is food safe, microwaveable, oven and dishwasher proof. Available at our Oakland and Burlingame locations
