(Northern California) Will Peterson's wood bowls, plates and vases are superb statements of artistic craftsmanship. His pieces are created via a complex process called "segmented turning" where he builds a block of various woods in a pattern and turns the entire block at the same time to shape a vessel that is remarkably complicated and beautifully realized. Peterson includes an enclosure card with each piece that details the types of wood used (choices include walnut, cherry, black veneer, maple, mahogany and purple heart among others). Wilson also documents the number of pieces incorporated into each finished vase, plate or bowl, which can number well over 200! Available at our Oakland location.
