Artist: Light Images Glass (Richmond, VA)
A stunning decoration to a fireplace, or beautiful in front of a sunny window. Artist Janet Smith has masterfully combined stained glass in dark gray, medium gray, dark purple, gold, pink, light amber, dark teal, bronze with brass inlay, copper tubing, dichroic glass and Moretti rods, as well as her signature copper framing. Glass panel measures 32"x28". Sits in a wrought iron stand. Best for decorative purposes or in front of a gas fire that does not throw off sparks. Will get warm, so if you need to move it, please use mitts. Damage to screen can occur if placed too close to open flames.

Combining new and ancient techniques with contemporary images
"The process of stained glass dates to medieval times, and involves using various metals to hold together individually hand-cut pieces of glass. I also enjoy incorporating other elements – sheets of copper, brass or nickel silver, copper tubing, glass rods, low fire hand-painting and kiln-fired glass. My background in painting (BFA 1979 VCU) and my love of nature drew me to glass over 40 years ago. It interacts with its environment, and changes with the light of day and night. It has a unique ability to invoke a sense of place, the quality of light on a landscape, or the state of mind one brings to these things." – Janet Smith, artist, Light Images Glass
