ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Michael Macone was planning to be a painter until his high school pottery instructor exposed him to all the wonders of clay. He enrolled in Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, but couldn't shake his ceramic experiences, so he decided to revisit pottery. He created one of a kind clay art and exhibited throughout the country dragging his young family with him, winning many awards along the way. He and his wife now have a gallery/cafe in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, where patrons can try their own hand at pottery and other creative endeavors.
Michael has created two distinctive collections – "Spooner Creek" is a line of handmade decorative tiles with fun and inspirational sayings while "Macone Clay" is a collaboration with his two sons Miles and Clayton, as well as his son in law Dan, to create unique new creations in clay with the recent addition of wood to allow for further artistic inspiration.
